Bible Reading Plan
I finished my third year using a Bible reading plan that takes you through the Bible in a year, and have started again this year. It’s really not as hard as it sounds to accomplish. If you’ve never tried it, please consider it. There are lots of good reading plans available (at least three can be found in our sanctuary foyer). To finish the Bible in a year generally requires reading 3 chapters of the Old Testament and 1 chapter of the New Testament each day. If that sounds too intimidating, try stretching it to three years. The key is consistency and not to get down on missing a day or not being as attentive as you think you ought to be each day. There will be days when your mind is elsewhere and it seems that you’re going through the motions. Don’t let that deter you. It’s going to happen. And don’t approach your reading as an intensive Bible study. Reading through the Bible in a year is meant to be a fast read that helps you capture the big picture.
