CSCK Starts this Sunday, September 8

This fall CSCK will be presenting the 2nd year of the 4-year curriculum.  Our theme is “Problema et Resolutio” or The Problem and The Solution.  We will introduce Questions 29-57 of the Children’s First Catechism. The Upperclassmen will work on Questions 14-35 of the Westminster Shorter Catechism.

With Carico family gone we have some new and exciting changes in store.  Therefore, it is important to have a good turnout at the Parent Orientation on September 8th at 9:00 a.m.  We have found that face to face conversations go a long way in answering questions and uniting us all together to be on the same page.  It is also a vital source of information for the CSCK leadership.  The Parent (only) Orientation will take place in the CSCK Great Hall (upstairs gym) while the Under and Neoclassmen (PK and elementary students) meet on the ground floor of the gym.  Middle and Upperclassmen (jr and sr high students) will assist with the younger students downstairs.

That same day, following worship service, we will come together for the Kingdom Feast (Community Lunch & Tassin farewell) followed by the annual Casting Ceremony.  This ceremony is one of CSCK’s grandest traditions and can be disconcerting for those who are not prepared.  This year we want to take extra care in preparing our families and making the youngest CSCK students feel more welcome – without losing any of the atmosphere of mystery. Please prepare your students for the candles and dim lighting.  But be sure to remind them that the ceremony will be capped off with Root Beer Floats!!  Always a highlight!

Hopefully, your family received an envelope with a letter to the parents and individual notes for each of their children.  We hope these will help build anticipation for the new year.
