Cornerstone is a Presbyterian church, which means we are governed by a plurality of leaders serving in two offices: elder and deacon.
Our pastor is one of the elders on our session. While he helps guide the vision of the church, he shares governing authority equally with the other elders. This strengthens accountability and shares the work of leadership.
Pastor
Our pastor preaches and teaches God’s Word, equips the congregation for ministry, and serves as one elder among the session.
Session
Our board of elders is responsible for spiritual oversight, the ministry of the Word and prayer, and the care of the congregation.
Deacons
Our deacons lead the church in practical care, mercy, and service so that needs within the congregation and community are met with compassion.
Serving the everyday life of the church.
Our ministry staff supports Cornerstone’s worship, administration, families, children, and youth.
Carter Sanger
Carter has served as Pastor of Cornerstone since 2005. He is passionate about preaching Christ from all of Scripture, helping people grow as disciples of Jesus, and equipping them to see how the gospel shapes every part of life.
He holds a B.S. in Engineering and a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary. He was formerly certified as a Project Management Professional.
Carter and his wife, Rhonda, have four children. He enjoys walking, motorcycle touring, being on the water, and reading historical novels.
