Mark 11:12-25

There is a scene in CS Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia, in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader where an unpleasant boy with a nasty and self-centered demeanor, must pass through a terribly painful ordeal in order to be saved from himself.

In this scene we see something like that happening, only with the people of God and their worship as a whole. The Old, and especially what it had become, must give way to the New. And that process will be mightily painful, as we will see. So what does that mean for us? It means we are to have faith in God’s provision for us in Christ, identified by real fruit and forgiveness.
