Forty Days of Rain
Genesis 6:1-13; 7:17-23
This week we’re looking at forty days of rain in the days of Noah, a time of judgment so great that nearly every living man and animal is wiped out. At the very least it tells me that the problem of sin is a lot bigger than we tend to think it is – that you’re a lot worse than you thought you were. And the lengths God went to save you is a lot greater than you ever imagined. Forty days of preparation invite you to ponder this.
To see this we’re going to explore the nature of God’s judgment. That is such an unpopular idea in today’s modern world. But as we work our way through the text, I hope that you will see that, rather than being outdated, it’s much needed.
