God as your Stronghold (Ps 27)
The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
It is an ever increasing need to know this to be true, especially as the world is less and less tolerant of the church and Biblical teaching. The New Testament letters teach us that if you are a follower of Christ, you will be persecuted. This has been the case for believers throughout the centuries and throughout the world. Americans, however, have been somewhat insulated from this kind of persecution. Many believe that insulation is going away and the church in America will grow increasingly persecuted. When it does, this truth will need to be cemented in our thoughts. The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
The question then becomes, how do we take refuge in this stronghold?
