Lead me to the Rock (Ps 61)
What do you do when your heart is faint? This is a prayer to offer up in such a time. What does it mean to be faint of heart? Frightened? Despairing? Ready to quit? Ready to give up?
So many of the psalmist’s prayers are just prayers unless you feel what the psalmist feels. Then they become stepping stones to renewal. Scripture is often like that. You might read a passage many times before it suddenly becomes one that you cling to. Why the sudden change? Something has opened your eyes. Someone has opened your eyes.
Perhaps this is one of the reasons we face so many ups and downs in life. There are perspectives to be gained that can come from no other place.
