Savior of the Nations
“If you could give one gift to the world, what would it be?” says the pageant host. “World peace,” comes the expected refrain. It is a noble desire, indeed. But only God can bring it for He is the Savior of the Nations.
Isaiah describes a feat that no power in history has ever been able to produce: peace in the Middle East. He describes it as more than an agreement to cease firing at one another. He describes the forging of a people unified not only at the surface but at the deepest levels of identity. This is the fruit of the gospel.
