The Building of Christ
There is so much confusion today about the church. It’s easy for people to justify their rejection of the Church. You look around and see cases of child abuse. You hear stories of moral failure, of pastors in multi-million-dollar homes and private jets. When you look back at history you can tell the stories of burning witches and heretics, torture and the inquisition, the crusades, etc. It’s enough to make you form a negative opinion about the church. It’s why many today would say they’re interested in a relationship with God but don’t want to have anything to do with the church. They are convinced that there are other good ways to get the spiritual guidance they need. There are good books, community Bible studies, seminars, retreats, sermons and other classes on-line. With all of this, who needs the church?
The simple answer? You do. And I do. You need the church because the church is the building of God. It is his dwelling place.
