The Seal of God: Baptism

Romans 6:1-11

Baptism is a means of grace in that it communicates the benefits of redemption. It differs from the Lord’s Supper in that it is applied only once, while the Lord’s Supper is to be regularly repeated throughout your life. The difference between the two is key. Baptism points to an unrepeatable event. As such, it gives us something to which we can look back and remember. I love the last phrase of this catechism answer, that we are engaged to be the Lord’s. That’s such a great picture.
