The Time Barrier
This morning we begin to deal with some of the barriers that keep us from going to our neighbors. One barrier is time. We don’t go because we’re too busy. There simply isn’t enough time after you factor in work, commuting in Houston traffic, responsibilities with the family, school, church, etc. So this morning we turn to this short scene at the end of Luke 10, a scene that seems like more of a non-event than anything else, that closes a chapter primarily devoted to going out and loving your neighbor. The short scene doesn’t seem to have much to do with kingdom work. But it does. Oh, how much it does. It points us to the “one thing needful” to be a follower of Christ.
