Pray for Your Pastor – Day 31

Day 31 – Financial Provision and Wisdom

  • “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:19 (ESV)
  • “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’”  Hebrews 13:5 (ESV)
  • “I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.”  Psalm 37:25 (ESV)

Ask God to provide for the financial needs of your pastor and his family. Pray that he will be a wise steward of both personal finances and church funds.

Pray for Your Pastor – Day 29

Day 29 – Work Wholeheartedly

  • “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,”  2 Peter 1:3 (ESV)
  • 23 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”  Colossians 3:23-24 (ESV)

Pray that he will strive for personal excellence and will believe God for all He wants to do in the congregation.

Day 28 – Seeking God’s Will

  • 3 “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,”  2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (ESV)
  • 23 “And he said to all, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.’”  Luke 9:23-24 (ESV)

Pray that he will earnestly seek God’s will and be committed to instant and complete obedience—ready for God to work powerfully in and through his ministry.

Day 27 – The Mind of Christ

  • “‘For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.”  1 Corinthians 2:16 (ESV)
  • 6 “Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. 8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.”  Colossians 2:6-8 (ESV)
  • “Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.”  Ephesians 4:17 (ESV)

Pray that your pastor will think biblically, with the mind of Christ.

Day 26 – A Heart for Revival

  • “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV)
  • “When the humble see it they will be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive.”  Psalm 69:32 (ESV)

Pray that your pastor will seek God for personal revival and revival in your church and community.

Pray for Your Pastor – Day 21 (re-post)

Day 21 – A Fresh Anointing

  • “But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.”  1 Corinthians 9:27 (ESV)
  • “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”  2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)
  • 18 “For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to bring the Gentiles to obedience—by word and deed, 19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God—so that from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ;”  Romans 15:18-19 (ESV)

Pray for a fresh divine anointing on your pastor’s ministry. Pray that God’s working will be powerfully evident both in his personal life and the spiritual life of the congregation.

Pray for Your Pastor – Day 25

Day 25 – Clear, Biblical Vision

  • “Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.”  Proverbs 29:18 (ESV)
  • “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”  John 15:16 (ESV)
  • “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.”   John 17:17 (ESV)

Pray that God will give your pastor a clear, biblical vision of what your church can be and should be for His glory and that he will communicate that vision clearly and confidently to the church.

Day 24 – Ministry Team Unity

  • “If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”  Romans 12:18 (ESV)
  • “So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual up-building.”  Romans 14:19 (ESV)

Pray for spiritual unity in the church staff and among the spiritual leadership of the church (elders, deacons, etc.). Pray that the enemy will not be allowed to create divisions, strife, or misunderstanding among the church leaders.

Day 23 – A Servant’s Heart

Pray that your pastor will practice servant leadership, edifying the congregation with wisdom and serving with God’s agape love.
