Cornerstone ladies are you ready for a garden party? Our last official fellowship, A Grand Garden Affair, will be a mimosa brunch and plant give away. This is a garden party in every sense of the word. Please come enjoy a delightful brunch with your Cornerstone sisters. We will meet, greet, eat, mingle, and browse throughout the morning. Plants will be available on the patio and your local Cornerstone gardening “experts” will be mingling as well if you have questions. Bring your daughters and bring a friend! We are hoping this will be a delightful finale to our official yearly programs and a grand launch into the lazy, hazy, days of summer!

Ladies we are in need of gardeners willing to propagate plant starts for our spring fellowship event! Would you be willing to commit to rooting, sprouting, preparing seeds, dividing bulbs, etc. to share with other women of our church? Our hope for the day is for less experienced gardeners to have a little help and encouragement. In order for this to happen we will need plants to give away. That’s where you come in! Obviously this takes a little planning and forethought. In order to have plants ready by the May 4 fellowship we need to get started.
Please include a care and information card with basic instructions for raising the plants you bring, similar to what you would get if you bought at the store. Also, include your name and number so the person receiving your plant could call you if they had a question about it. Again,I am asking you to commit to sharing what you have with other women of the church. Please consider bringing 5 or more starts of one or more varieties of plants. It is a little work, but my prayer is that it would be a blessing to others. Please contact me if you can bring some plant starts. Thank you and may God bless the work of your hands!
Ladies don’t forget the Sip and Swap this Thursday, March 7 at 7:00pm in the church fellowship hall. Bring a few gently used items to swap or just come and take some items. We will have tables set up for various categories such as children’s clothing, men’s clothing, household items, toys, kitchen wares, etc. Sip a beverage, eat some yummy snacks, browse, and visit! We hope to see you there!
Ladies, it’s that time of year when we know we have to purge the closets and cupboards of all the stuff we never use! Is anyone like me carrying it around in the back of their car thinking “I’ll remember to drop it off today.” Then thinking the same thing the next day and the next day and the next? Well, we have a solution to your problem…Swap and Sip! We know you are busy, but we really want to spend time with you so we decided to “kill two birds with one stone”. Our next fellowship is a Swap and Sip Social. Bring a few items in good used condition to the church because your junk just might be my treasure! Nibble on some appetizers and sip on a beverage as you socialize and search for your treasure among the other women’s junk! Don’t have any junk? Wonderful! Come help the rest of us get rid of ours because our junk just might be your treasure! Come sip, swap, and socialize with your sisters in Christ!

Ladies of Cornerstone, please join us for a baby shower for Amanda, Matt, and Reagan Vaksdal. We’ll open gifts, have some cake, and spend some time praying for them. We’ll meet at the Lotts’ house on November 18 starting at 3:00, ending at 4:30. For more information please contact Linda Lott.
Ladies, do you like chocolate? How about a fire on a cool autumn evening? If you answered “yes” to either of those questions please join us for “S’mores and More” on the church patio Thursday evening, November 1 at 6:30. We will provide s’mores fixings and coffee! You bring a shareable snack and a beverage if you would like something other than coffee.
This will be our first “official” women’s fellowship for this year. Why do we have “official” fellowships? The simplest answer is that life is busy and most of us find it hard to slow down and take time to get to know other women. It’s hard enough to even have a conversation with your close friends much less someone you don’t know well. We hope this is that opportunity to get to know other women in the church. After all we are sisters for all eternity!
Another reason is that “The God of heaven and earth is a personal God who enters into an intimate relationship with us. Our relationships with each other are to mirror God’s relationship with us.”As we know each other better our prayer would be that we as women would collectively bring a “deeper sense of community and compassion to our church family.” (Susan Hunt in The Legacy of Biblical Womanhood).
Women need fellowship. One thing I do know is that I need help with this. It does not come naturally to me! Come on November 1 and let’s get to know one another better. Let’s eat chocolate and chat by the fire. Let’s “help a sister out”!
From, Doniece Russell
As our women’s mentoring ministry gets ready to kick off this fall, there will be an Informational Coffee at Lauren Torregano’s on Sunday, October 14, at 3:00 p.m. Some changes are in the air, and we would love to share H2H’s “new look” with you. All Cornerstone women and visitors are invited! Attending the coffee does not obligate you to participate, so we hope you will come to learn more.
All Cornerstone women and guests are invited to join us on Thursday mornings for an in-depth Bible study and time of fellowship and prayer. We will begin a 10-week lesson on Hospitality on Thursday, September 20 from 9:15–11:30AM in the Sanctuary. Childcare is available for pre-school age children. Please contact Beverly Tucker email@example.com if you have questions.
Our Christmas trees have come down, the decorations are put away and New Year resolutions are under way. If one of those is to attend Bible study, you’re in luck! The new study will begin Thursday, January 18th at 9:15 a.m.
We will be reading the book, Adorned: Living Out the Beauty of the Gospel Together, by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. It is a perfect continuation of last semester’s study of Titus since this book focuses on Titus 2. From the product description: “The Titus 2 model of older women living out the gospel alongside younger women is vital for us all to thrive. It is mutually strengthening, glorifies God, and makes His truth believable to our world”.
You will be expected to read one chapter of the book each week and come prepared to discuss it with a group. There are some discussion questions at the end of each chapter. Our time together will be enhanced the more each woman comes prepared to share.
If you would like to purchase a book Beverly Tucker will have some available this Sunday before and after church. The cost is $12.68 each. You may also purchase the book on your own from Amazon or the retailer of your choice.
